Jai says that action image is important for a hero
Adhey Neram Adhey Idam which has Jai in the lead role is being released this Friday. While speaking about this to the media people, he said," This film will be totally different from my earlier films.
I can also say this is my first action film. So far I have not done action oriented hero role. I have taken risk while doing the stunt scenes. After this film I will get the action hero image.
If people accept me as action hero, they will accept me in any role. But if I am stuck in any other image, it will be very difficult to become an action hero. In that way this film Adhey Neram Adhey Idam will be an important film in my career.
First ever for Jai
Vamanan is the first film for Jai which will have a maximum number of prints. Sources in Kollywood say that the Vamanan team has plans to make 160 prints of it, the highest ever for Jai.
Vamanan's director Ahmed expects this film to be a trendsetter. Jai, who had been starring in multi hero subjects till now, will be seen as an action hero in this film. The director is confident that several films will follow the trend set by Vamanan.
Priya, a newbie, plays the female lead, while Lakshmi Rai, Rahman, Oorvasi and Santhanam will be seen donning important roles. Plans are afoot to dub the film in Telugu after it is released in Tamil on 10th July.
Jai completes shoot for hyped film
'Aval Peyar Thamizharasi' has created a lot of hype already, but more than often for the wrong reasons. The film, directed by Meera Kadhiravan, is said to have a completely different storyline and Navya Nair was originally asked to play the heroine. Later, the movie generated by buzz by not revealing the name of the heroine at all, giving the film more interest value.
The film, featuring Jai in the lead, was later said to be disrupted by Jai, owing to poor punctuality, though the crew has denied it. All these things are now things of the past with Jai having completed shoot for the film.
'Aval Peyar Thamizharasi' is being produced by Moser Baer and is slated to be a July release. The film is said to be the search of a youngster of his childhood love. A realistic film, it is said to have the right dose of sentiment and love, with good folk tunes for the first time by Vijay Antony.
The shooting for the film was completed last week in Pune, after being shot in Tirunelveli. Forty children are said to be playing small roles in the film.
I enjoyed doing Goa - Jai
Goa is a film everyone is looking forward to and Jai more than anyone else. "I enjoyed doing Goa," he tells us. "I have a slick role and it was fun working with the Chennai 28 team again complete with Venkat Prabhu, Premgi and gang. I play a boy searching for a girlfriend," he reveals.
Talking about his shooting in Langkawi Jai reveals, "The hotel we stayed in was supposed to be haunted. I didn't believe it at first but when they told us bulbs would suddenly burst and it really happened in my room, I started beleiving it!"
But Vaibhav also played pranks on him and once broke some things in Jai's room and said that the ghost had done it! Now we really believe that the boys had fun shooting for the film!
Goa spells romance
After the successful Subramaniapuram where his romantic numbers became super hits, Jai is happy to be back with in a romantic role once again. In Venkat Prabhu's Goa he will be romancing the glamourous Piaa Bajpai ( of Poi Solla Porom and Aegan fame).
"Venkat has put some nice love scenes for me in Goa so I will be having some love scenes for the first time, "says a grinning Jai who is sporting a smart, short cropped hairstyle and shaven and slightly stubbled look these days. "Yeah, the long hair and bearded look is gone. It was needed for the current crop of films I was doing so I couldn't shave nor cut my hair," he grins.
